Chair Yoga for seniors and adults
About
Experience the benefits of traditional yoga in a more accessible format. The library offers a free chair yoga class for seniors and adults on the third Tuesday of the month, during lunchtime. All levels welcome – no registration required. Chair yoga is perfect for those who prefer or require seated support. This chair yoga class offers all the benefits of traditional yoga in a more accessible format. We'll use the chair for stability and assistance while exploring stretches, movements, and breathing exercises that improve flexibility, circulation, and balance. Don't be fooled by the chair; this workout builds core strength. This class is ideal for seniors, individuals with limited mobility, or anyone looking for a different approach to their yoga practice. Join us to experience the joy of movement and relaxation! What to bring: Be sure to wear comfy clothes and bring a water bottle. You may bring a yoga mat (optional). A blanket is recommended for final relaxation to ward off the chill often felt during the cool-down period. Ameya Dighe, a certified instructor through Yoga Bharati, is passionate about making wellness accessible to all.
