Special Guests The Bay Area Carnivorous Plant Society (BACPS) is a group of passionate carnivorous plant enthusiasts located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The society hosts regular educational and trade/sale meetings around the Bay Area as well as one of the largest annual public carnivorous plant festivals in the USA. BACPS believes strongly in conservation, with many of their efforts going towards education and sponsoring the protection of our beloved carnivores. BACPS meetings are always free and open to the public of all ages. To learn more about the Bay Area Carnivorous Plant Society, please visit: http://bacps.org/ Event FAQs What is included with my ticket? Your ticket includes pre-show exploration of the Spees building (including NASA Ames visitor center), the pre-show talk hosted by the Bay Area Carnivorous Plant Society, and the film screening. Is there an age restriction for this event? Yes. This event is for guests 18 years and older. Guests under the age of 18 will not be permitted entry, even if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Will there be food and beverages available? Yes! We understand Audrey II is not the only one with an appetite. A selection of snacks as well as both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as snacks will be available for purchase. Will the movie in the planetarium be a full-dome, 360-degree experience? To avoid warping the movie’s dimensions, the film itself will not be projected across the full 360-degree dome. Instead, we project the movie widely onto a massive section of the screen, while star fields fill the rest of the dome around it for a truly unique, immersive viewing environment! How many showings of the movie are available? This is a one-night-only event. However, if we sell out planetarium seating, we will open ticket sales for a simultaneous second showing in our Megadome Theater across the hall from the Planetarium. Do you offer accessible seating in the planetarium? Yes! Chabot Space & Science Center provides designated accessible seating areas for guests using wheelchairs or requiring mobility accommodations. While these seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, we highly encourage guests requesting specific accommodation to contact us in advance so we can ensure you have the best possible viewing experience.
