Read to a Dog at White Oak Library
About
We have a limited number of available time slots. Readers can sign up for a time slot at the Information Desk. Each reader will have ten minutes to read one-on-one with a certified therapy dog! This program is specifically targeted to children 5-12 years old who have some ability to read aloud on their own. This is an independent reading program. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to let their child read independently with the dog and can observe their reader from a nearby table during the reading session. Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child. Questions about this program?
