Are you a jewelry enthusiast? Join our foundational class for those looking to start their journey in jewelry-making. We will explore the basic and vital techniques to jewelry fabrication and metalsmithing. Students will learn how to properly cut, saw, anneal, texture, shape, solder, and polish metal. Our wonderful jewelry studio is outfitted with all the tools and equipment to take your jewelry making to the next level and beyond. Class fee includes the use of tools and materials for two introductory project such as a pendant, keychain, a ring, or earrings in brass or copper. Students who wish to use materials beyond what is provided need to have the approval of the instructor and be responsible for purchasing and safe storage. Additional silver and gemstones can be purchased in class for a fee, payable to the instructor. Jewelry making requires normal hand dexterity. New students must attend the first class to receive instruction that will not be repeated. Tools and materials available. The Jewelry Studio is located on the upper floor, with stair access only.
