Come join us in the beautiful Milpitas Library for an afternoon of surreal movies exploring social satire and self imprisonment. At 2:00 PM, we will be showing The Exterminating Angel ( El ángel exterminador), which centers around a dinner party whose guests can't seem to leave. As the night goes on the guests abandon social etiquette and fall into chaos . Created by surrealism's most influential director, Luis Buñuel, this satire is considered one of the best 1,000 movies ever made. (This movie is in Spanish with English subtitles) At 3:45 PM, we will be showing Synecdoche, New York , where Caden Cotard, an ailing theater director, tries to build a replica of the city and his life in a Manhattan warehouse in an attempt to direct it all.
