Special Storytime with Birdie the Brave

Join local author Lena Strickling and her therapy dog, Birdie, for a storytime about dogs, heroes, and the importance of asking for help. Birdie the Brave follows a therapy dog extraordinaire who uses her superpower of listening and loving to comfort firefighters, police officers, nurses, teachers, and more in the town of Hero Heights. This heartwarming story teaches children about empathy, emotional support, and the importance of talking about feelings — reminding them that it's okay to need help, even when you're a hero. Seating for Special Storytimes is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Access to the children's picture book collection will be limited during the program.
