Kings Park Ofrenda
About
"Ofrenda," Spanish for offering, is an altar created during the annual Dia de los Muertos to celebrate those who have died. In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, Kings Park will host a community ofrenda to celebrate our loved ones who have passed on. Submit a photo of a deceased loved one between September 15 and September 30, and it will be displayed during the month of October on our ofrenda. Photos can be brought to the INFO desk, or emailed to libkp@fairfaxcounty.gov with the subject line "Ofrenda." Please include your loved one's first name, nickname, or other moniker. Photos of deceased pets are also welcome. As this display will be within reach of little hands, you are encouraged to provide a copy of a photo on regular paper that you do not mind losing. Emailed photos will be printed in color on regular copy paper. Photos will not be returned at the conclusion of this display. Visit our ofrenda anytime during the month of October!
