Cunamacué presents Cajon Circle Class

This engaging class offers participants of all ages an opportunity to explore the vibrant history of the Afro-Peruvian Cajón while learning to play a variety of Afro-Peruvian and Latin rhythms. Participants will connect these rhythms to Spanish syllables and words, enriching their cultural understanding through music and language. With Cajons provided for everyone, the session promises a lively, inclusive, and fun environment where all can join in the rhythmic experience, making it an ideal activity for families, individuals, or groups interested in exploring Afro-Peruvian musical traditions. Who Should Come? The workshop is ideal for ages 5 and up. Facilitator Cunamacué is a Bay Area nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Afro-Peruvian music and dance since 2010. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests. An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) business days in advance.
