We examined these processes during an emotion distancing task using multimodal measures of subjective emotional experience, autonomic physiology (pupillometry and skin conductance), and functional MRI, and tested their associations with suicidal ideation, nonsuicidal self-injury, and suicide attempts. Emotion reactivity showed limited associations with SITBs across subjective, peripheral physiological, and neural measures.
