French-Canadian artist Grégory Chatonsky, a pioneer of net art and among the first artists to work through machine learning presents a lecture titled "INFRALLUCINATION."Hallucination has become the ambivalent concept of our digital era: oscillating between an error to be corrected and a driver of radical inventiveness. Far from abstract theories, this conference proposes approaching artificial hallucination through the lens of artistic experience. Gregory Chatonsky explores how AI redefines our relationship with reality and memory. Through a journey across his works, he questions: how does a machine hallucinate? How does this "ontological pareidolia" transform our own imagination? A reflection on a machine that, through its signs, becomes the language-based hallucination of the world.
