French-Canadian artist Grégory Chatonsky, a pioneer of net art and among the first artists to work through machine learning discusses the concept at the heart of his recent practice: the "fourth memory." Working across installation, generative text and image, sculpture, and photography, Chatonsky treats this as a memory specific to the new media landscape of generative AI. The talk situates his work within Hidden Layers central questions about hallucination, latency, and the materiality of the digital.
