Storybook Singers: Movie Music Magic

Ages: 7-10 Thursdays 4:30-5:20pm: 9/3, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15 Performance for the Parents! Storybook Singers is a high-energy, engaging youth chorus centered around the soundtracks of today’s most popular animated films. By combining basic vocal training with theatrical expression, we reimagine classic and modern movie tunes with our voices and piano. Taught by two amazing teaching artists with music degrees and lots of performing experience, Brianna Stewart (voice, piano) and Teo Nouve (voice, piano) direct this ensemble. We’ll learn vocal warmups, expose the kids to reading vocal melody lines of notation, discuss how to express the words/sentiments of the song theatrically, and will engage in basic harmony singing. The easiest way to engage children with music is to support and encourage them to sing the songs they already love! Participants will need to purchase and print their own music. Music will be selected and links will be sent out by two weeks before the start of the class.
